Never a dull moment here in the valley. Every day is an adventure, and yesterday there was a special discount on adventures. Yesterday was two adventures for the price of one. If you know me, you know I love a good bargain, so I just couldn't resist.
The day started out like a normal day. We exercised. Jason went to language school. The kids and I worked a little around the house. Then Jason returned from school. Sounds pretty normal, right? We were totally off our guard for the adventure we were about to encounter.
I was asked last week about tips for family devotions, especially dealing with young children. My first piece of advice? JUST DO THEM! Something is better than nothing. But to make it effective and more enjoyable, here are some tips:
Who do you hang out with at church? It's definitely easier to hang out with people who are like ourselves and who have similar interests! Back in the States, it was easier for me to relate to other homeschool families or football fans or ladies my own age. Here, it is definitely easier for me to hang around the Americans or those who speak English well. It just makes me feel like I belong... Like I am a part of something... Unified.
As I have been dwelling on the first three verses in Ephesians 4, the Lord has shown me some areas that I have not been walking worthy in meekness and lowliness... And without long suffering or forbearing.
So many people struggle with this one thing...
How do I know God's will for my life? Does He want me to buy this house, marry this man, go to this college, be a missionary, be a nurse, homeschool the children?
