I was talking to my friend earlier this week. She was such an encouragement to me. And I sure hope I encouraged her. She drives somewhere around 45 minutes to get to church. In America, that's a pretty long drive! But it's such a good church! So, we made a deal that neither of us would complain about our drives to church.
The moment the promise escaped my lips, I knew what was coming... Sure enough.
So this evening as we left for church, I remembered the promise I made. I began praying.
At the age of nine, I attended a local Baptist church with my family. I had expressed a desire to be saved to my mom. She took me to the pastor of the church who led me in a prayer, and declared me to be saved. I do not remember him asking my any questions to make sure I understood biblical salvation, but I do remember during the prayer I glanced up at my mom. I knew I was making her proud.
Never a dull moment here in the valley. Every day is an adventure, and yesterday there was a special discount on adventures. Yesterday was two adventures for the price of one. If you know me, you know I love a good bargain, so I just couldn't resist.
The day started out like a normal day. We exercised. Jason went to language school. The kids and I worked a little around the house. Then Jason returned from school. Sounds pretty normal, right? We were totally off our guard for the adventure we were about to encounter.
