The battle is fierce. The enemy is alway plotting, and looking for weak spots. And the weak spots are there. The battle ground? Marriage.
Why does the enemy hate marriage so much? Because God designed it, and the enemy hates our God. Marriage, when done according to God's design, is pure and beautiful... godly.
So how do we have victory in this battle?
Everyday, I am learning that ministry is all around. It is there for those who are looking. I have been wanting to do more for the Lord, but wasn't sure where to start. I do not enjoy just sitting around while we learn the language and culture, but I also understand those things must be the priority right now. We do not want anything to distract us from learning the language, but sometimes I feel so... useless. I have been praying He would lay something on my heart that I could do for Him to reach out that would not take me away from language learning. At first I wanted something big. Something exciting. But I am learning that ministry isn't necessarily Bible studies, VBS, bus ministry... sometimes ministry is as simple as going for a walk.
I made a terrible mistake yesterday...
It all started out like a typical day. I got up, did my devotion, and got dressed. Unfortunately, as I got dressed I accidently put on the wrong head. I wore my American head. American heads do not do well in this country. No one else is wearing American heads... they are wearing heads from this country. So why is wearing an American head a problem?
Because American heads come with American thinking... and American thinking clashes with the thinking of this country. So yesterday's adventures were not as pleasant and entertaining as they should have been had I put on the right head.
It is the only thing hungrier than my teenage son.
It can gobble up food, time, and money faster than you can call 911!
And it can bring a grown woman to tears.
It's... the pantry!
Last week, our family dealt with something we had not yet experienced in our new country. It was a week long puja (worship) service that lasted from sunrise until late at night everyday at our neighbor’s house. They had two huge loud speakers that blasted music, chanting, pagan worship, bells, horns blowing, and more.
What started out as a week of severe auditory torture and spiritual attack, ended up much different than I ever expected. I posted on Facebook as the week progressed. Watch the transformation, and praise God for His goodness. All by His grace.
