You are sitting in church for an hour and a half. The preacher is preaching away. And this is his message every church service for nine straight months:
"Blah, blah, sin, blah, blah blah blah, heaven, blah blah blah blah Jesus, Blah blah blah blah Bible, Blah, blah, sin, blah, blah blah blah, heaven, blah blah blah blah Jesus, Blah blah blah blah Bible, Blah, blah, sin, blah, blah blah blah, heaven, blah blah blah blah Jesus, Blah blah blah blah Bible..." and so on and so forth for an hour and a half.
Recently, we found out the exciting news that we have family coming to visit us this Fall! We can barely contain ourselves because we are so happy about this!
But then I began thinking... we need to have a great place for them to stay. We need to set up a nice guest room. I have never set up a guest room on foreign soil, so I sought advice from my friends who have. What a great list they compiled! Want the perfect guest room for your visitors? See how many of these you can do...
I have been reading through the Bible the past few weeks, and I am almost halfway through the book of Numbers. You know what I find totally fascinating and encouraging? The order and organization of how God set everything up! Every person had a place. Every person had a task. Every detail of how things were supposed to be done was spelled out.
Now that might not excite you, but for someone who loves schedules, plans, and lists, this is huge! Have you ever heard the saying, "A place for everything, and everything in its place"? I like that saying. But even better...
1 Corinthians 14:40 "Let all things be done decently and in order."
God is orderly. If you have spent any time in the first five books of the Bible, you must have noticed that. And He wants us to do things orderly as well.
The battle is fierce. The enemy is alway plotting, and looking for weak spots. And the weak spots are there. The battle ground? Marriage.
Why does the enemy hate marriage so much? Because God designed it, and the enemy hates our God. Marriage, when done according to God's design, is pure and beautiful... godly.
So how do we have victory in this battle?
