Remember the Kanchapur village Christians? The story continues...

The last time our church group visited the Kanchanpur Christians, a group came that opposed a church being planted and Christ being preached. That meeting ended peacefully with the group of Hindus leaving.

We received word tonight that a meeting was called by the Hindu group. Two of the Christians went, but two others were forced physically to attend. There were over 3000 people in attendance at this meeting. They told the Christians they didn't want any of this Christian stuff in their area, and that if they continued to pursue this they would be beaten.

If I were in their shoes, what would I do? What would I say? I am not sure I would have responded the way these men did...

"If you beat us, we will not fight back."

How ashamed I feel for every time in the States I was afraid to give a tract because of how the person might respond. These men are putting their lives on the line... And I was once afraid a cashier might say, "I don't believe that Christian stuff." My greatest danger was embarrassment because I lacked backbone... Their greatest danger is death.

With this new development, we foreigners have been taken off the "list" of people to go on the trips to Kanchanpur. Our presence would endanger these men even more. But the nationals of our church still plan on reaching out to help.

Pray for Kanchanpur... And pray for Christians in America to get busy. With all the freedoms and protections American Christians have, the greatest dangers are not physical. They are apathy and cowardliness.

Spread the word... pray for Kanchanpur.
