From this moment forward.

A crossroads of decision... from now on... change.

Henceforth... a choice to be made.  What am I going to do?

I have had many of those moments, confronted with a choice.  Sometimes I made the right choice.  Sometimes I didn't.  Ephesians 4:17 presents a decision to be made... a command given that must be obeyed. But I have a decision to make. Am I going to obey the command or ignore the command.

Ephesians 4:17 "This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,"

The first verse of chapter 4 commands us to walk worthy of what God has called us to, and now it we are being told to NOT walk like the lost Gentiles.  We are told how to walk... and how not to walk.

Not walking like the Gentiles walk...

Not valuing what the world values, talking like the world talks, going where the world goes, watching what the world watches, dressing like the world dresses, loving what the world loves, singing what the world sings, laughing at what the world laughs at, drinking what the world drinks...

When I read this verse this morning, I stopped and thought about, "What am I doing that looks like the world? How do I know it looks like the world?"

How do you know something looks like the world? Because it doesn't look like the Lord.  It doesn't follow His Word.

I don't want to walk like the world.  I took some time to inspect myself this morning. I have to admit, I found some of my steps that resemble the world more than it resembles Christ.

Time to rethink my steps.

Inspect your steps... make a choice. Henceforth... change your walk.
